About our business

Our business started in Rotherfield in 1983 when Michael (The MJ in MJ White Contractors) decided that his family's future lay in the world of plant hire and civil engineering.

Originally the business specialised in just excavation work using the company's bright yellow JCBs but over the years the work undertaken by Michael and his team has gradually developed into a much wider range of services including residential patios, driveways and building as well as excavation work, drainage and foundations.

Jim, Michael's son, joined the firm in 2005 and took over the main day-to-day running of the business (having been involved in the hard landscaping industry himself for many years), allowing the 'old man' to retire from full-time employment.

Today M J White Contractors is a thriving family-run business with over 25 years of hard landscaping and excavating experience. We offer a very wide range of services including paving paths and driveways, creating garden hard landscaping, digging ponds and small lakes as well as excavation work for residential and commercial developments.
